What is Form DS-160?
Travelers who want to stay in the United States, Hawaii, Guam, Saipan, or other US territories for an extended period of time, such as to attend school or work, must apply for and acquire visas. Those coming to the United States for tourist or noncommercial reasons for no more than the ESTA-eligible duration of 90 days do not need to get visas. When applying for a visa in the United States, the “Form DS-160” online application procedure is used.
The applicant’s information is assumed to be true, and this is confirmed by the applicant signing Form DS-160, an electronic signature mechanism. Form DS-160 is an online application form for all nonresident visa applicants from United States embassies and consulates, including babies and preschool children. If you want to stay in the United States for an extended amount of time with your family, do not forget to file for Form DS-160.
